Welcome to my website.

Hello,
My name is Harald and I’m a photographer from the southern part of The Netherlands. I could write a whole book about how it all started, but that would be too long, so I’ll try to make a long story short.
I guess it is all on my father’s side of the family. My grandfather photographed for many years, my father and also my uncle. From all of them I learned a lot about photography. My uncle Wolfgang taught me about nature and about cool tricks with the camera equipment.
A few years back I also started photographing models, and it is a complete different thing to do.
I have met so many important professional photographers. I learned so many new things from all of them. Therefore a big thanks goes to: Mark Daughn and Rolando Gomez.
The Big Problem for me is that they both live in the USA. So I had to find a teacher here, and I found one: a big thanks goes to Peter.
Next I have to thank all the models who posed for me, and I must say all of them were and are very nice to work with. But of course some models deserve an extra thanks. Because they all started the “whole model photography thing” for me. An extra thanks goes to: Holley Dorrough, Tess Bry, Lotte, and the most important one: Tailor James.
Now I have met 1 very special model, who became one of my best friend very quickly, and I want to thank her very much for being my friend and my number 1 model: Jenni Czech.
I now take pictures with professional Nikon Camera equipment and for Model Photography I use professional Hensel equipment.
It is very easy for me when I want to take new nature pictures: I take my cameras, get our dog and both of us go out. As soon as I see a spot we stop and I start clicking away!
But working with models is not that easy because there is way more to do before you can even start shooting. First you have to find a model, next you need to find a date both are available to do the shoot. If the location is not my home, I need to transfer all the equipment to the location. Some models wish to have a makeup artist present, so I have to find a third person who is available on that day, etc.
So you see there is a lot of organizing involved before you can start shooting.
Through this website I hope to find a lot of models to work with and to make my photography much easier.
That is why: I call out to all the models out there: if you’re interested in a shoot, please contact me and we’ll take it from there!
I also love to travel. And what a great combination that is, travel and photography.
I have seen so many places in this world, too many to write them all down. But some countries I have seen are: Austria, Ecuador, Egypt, East and West Canada, England, France, Hawaii, Indonesia, Namibia, South Africa, Thailand and many places in the USA, etc.
But my favorite places are: Alaska, Galapagos Islands, Iceland, Kamchatka (far east Russia).
Of course I like movies! During all my travels I have taken so many pictures from celebrities, also too many to mention. But my absolute favorite picture is the one with Kristanna Loken. I met her several times.
And last but not least: I am a big U2 fan. I met my best friend Genevieve for the first time in 1992. I’ve been following U2’s music since April 1987. I have seen many concerts of them. Amsterdam, Germany, London etc. In 1997 I saw U2 for the first time live outside Europe; in Toronto with my very special friend Jennifer.
Together with Femke, I also went to Johannesburg, for the final concert of the Popmart tour.
But since I am a Los Angeles freak, the highlight was seeing U2 in Los Angeles in October 2009 during their 380 degrees tour. And this show was filmed for a dvd release. I was there with a very special Friend. Who??? That will be our secret.
I hope you enjoyed this little story about myself.
Take care,
Harald
